Hi! I’m Shantel. In 2013, I graduated from MaKami College with a 3000-hour diploma. Since then, I have completed many sports therapy-related continuing education credits such as Graston Technique, Advanced Orthopedic Massage, Cupping, Neuromuscular Therapy, RAPID, FST, etc.
I’ve always been passionate about sports particularly biking, basketball, and volleyball, but I always had to at least try as many sports as I could. This often led to a multitude of injuries. If it wasn’t for my basketball coach, who was trained in Athletic Therapy, helping me with my recoveries, I wouldn’t have been able to continue playing basketball or any other sport. It inspired me to help others in a similar way. Massage Therapy seemed like the best place to start.
While sports injuries tend to be my passion, I enjoy treating a wide variety of chronic and acute injuries. The more challenging the injury, the more enjoyable it is for me to treat. It’s rewarding for me when I see progress in my client’s recovery and see them going back to what they love doing.
While weightlifting at the gym, shooting hoops, and biking tend to be my go-to sports, I still enjoy challenging myself to try new sports. I like to try everything from boxing to kayaking and everything in between. When I am not being active, I am generally hanging out with my friends and family or reading books.
