Craig Wilson
Hi I’m Craig, co-owner at Pivotal Physiotherapy. I graduated from the University of Alberta with an MSc in Medical Sciences in 1999 and a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2003; I’ve also completed advanced training in manual therapy, acupuncture, spinal manipulation and Gunn IMS.
I love the physiotherapy profession and try to promote it wherever I can. As a Clinical Placement Instructor at the University of Alberta and other post secondary institutions, I’m able to promote the profession and share my knowledge and experience with rehabilitation medicine students. In 2014 I was elected for a two-year term on Council for Physiotherapy Alberta. I look forward to learning about and contributing to issues that concern both physiotherapists and our patients.
I enjoy treating a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions including spinal dysfunction, motor vehicle collisions, post-surgical recovery and sport-specific rehabilitation. I combine exercise, manual therapy and acupuncture/IMS to optimize my patients’ recovery. It feels good to help people achieve personal goals and live their chosen lifestyles. Having an active lifestyle is important to me. I like outdoor activities like mountain biking, running, snowboarding and learning to golf.

Hi I’m Raj, physiotherapist and co-owner here at Pivotal. I’m passionate about rehabilitative medicine, and I’ve been a full-time clinician for over 15 years. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta and completed post-graduate training in spinal manipulation, musculo-skeletal acupuncture and Gunn IMS. I am a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (fCAMPT), and am FMS/SFMA certified
Physiotherapy is an extremely rewarding career for me. I’m really interested in motor vehicle injuries, athletic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and complex clinical cases. I also have a role with the University of Alberta as a Clinical Instructor and a Curriculum Committee Member. I cherish the chance to help train the next generation of rehabilitation professionals.
I absolutely love the challenge of diagnosing musculoskeletal dysfunction. My treatment style is a combination of hands-on manual therapy, IMS, and condition-specific exercise prescription. My work is an opportunity to become engaged in people’s lives and work with them not only to ensure optimal rehabilitation, but also to get them back to the things that are important to them.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor’s degree in Biological and Physical Sciences. After my undergraduate degree, I completed my Masters in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2011. Since becoming a physiotherapist, I have continued to learn new skills and treatment techniques to further my training; I am certified in dry needling and medical acupuncture, as well as the Graston Technique. Most recently, I have completed my training for certification in spinal manipulations.
My treatment style is largely focused on therapeutic exercise and manual therapy. I also believe that education plays a key role in the prevention and management of any ailment. I enjoy working with clients of all activity levels and ages in helping them to reduce pain and regain mobility, strength and function. I pay attention to my client’s lifestyles, goals and health needs, and I work closely with them to develop an individualized treatment plan.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my family. I enjoy running, tennis, yoga, and snowboarding. As a family, we love to spend time in the mountains and I am looking forward to introducing our new son to hiking and camping!

What motivates me as a physiotherapist is the unique challenges that each day and each individual brings. I value the relationships that I build with my patients and having the opportunity to help them in their journey to get back to doing the things that they are passionate about. My treatment approach involves a partnership with my patients so that we can set out and work towards goals that are meaningful to them, while incorporating a treatment plan that is flexible to each individual’s lifestyle so that they can thrive in their rehab journey. I utilize a combination of education, exercise, and manual therapy techniques, and I am a big believer in empowering my patients with the resources and tools necessary to take a primary role in their own recovery. This better equips patients to manage and prevent the problem from recurring in the future. No matter your age, injury, or fitness level I would be thrilled to help you work towards achieving your goals!
In my free time you’ll probably see me playing, watching, or reading about hockey. I have been a huge Edmonton Oilers fan my entire life, and despite a decade that I’d like to forget, my loyalty and hope for the team still remains. I enjoy any opportunity that I get to visit the mountains, whether that be to snowboard, hike, or just explore the town.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2004 and joined the Pivotal team in 2007 as a Fort Saskatchewan physiotherapist. For me, it’s important to maintain the highest standard of care for my patients, so I continue to advance my professional skills and have completed my certification in spinal manipulation.
I know first hand how injury (particularly motor vehicle, spinal and work-related injuries) can hinder a person’s lifestyle. So I use a range of therapeutic methods including manual therapy, exercise and athletic taping to help my patients regain normal joint, soft tissue and neural mobility.
As a Fort Saskatchewan physiotherapist, I enjoy working with a variety of patients, ranging from office workers to highly trained athletes. I particularly enjoy working with sports teams and sport-related injuries, so much so that I was the physiotherapist for the Augustana Vikings and Camrose Kodiak’s Junior “A” teams from 2004-2007.
I’m a sports enthusiast, and I spend a lot of my spare time playing hockey, ball hockey and softball. Believe it or not, I also like farming. It’s a really good way to stay in shape.

I’m a graduate of the University of Alberta Bachelor of Physical Therapy program. Following graduation, I completed advanced training in manual orthopedic therapy, medical acupuncture and Gunn IMS (intramuscular stimulation). I’m also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).
My decision to pursue physiotherapy as a career arose from a love of sports. Having been involved in sport and recovered from several injuries, I developed an interest in sport-related injuries. I am also interested in motor vehicle accident injuries and the use of acupuncture to assist recovery. I use a combination of manual therapy, exercise and acupuncture to treat my patients.
Away from work, I enjoy cycling and trying different types of physical activity challenges such as canoeing and hiking.

I’m Patrick and I have been practicing physiotherapy in private practice orthopedics for over 10 years now. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Physical Education degree in Athletic Therapy in 1999 and again in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Physical Therapy degree. Since university I have continued to further my education with CPA Orthopedic Manual Therapy Courses and more specifically, advanced courses in shoulder, thoracic spine and cervical spine rehabilitation as well as the therapeutic treatment of cervical headaches.
Throughout my life I have always been heavily involved in sports, exercise and staying healthy. These interests combined with my love of helping people and studying the human body has made physical therapy the perfect career for me. To put it simply, I love my job and find it highly rewarding to help people achieve their physical goals and return to strong health and fitness.
In the past I have also been involved as an athletic trainer/ physiotherapist for numerous sports team. After completing a four year playing career as a member of the University of Alberta Golden Bears Tennis team, I went on to be the athletic trainer for the Bears and Pandas tennis teams. More recently I was the head athletic trainer for Team Alberta of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League where I had the chance to treat past and future Olympians in the highest level of women’s hockey available in Canada.
Currently, I am heavily involved in playing slo pitch in the summer and hockey in the winter months. Although I enjoy working with athletes, I also have a heavy interest in other areas of rehabilitation as well. There is no aspect of my career that I enjoy more than problem solving with my clients in order to get them back to the activities that they enjoy, whether from a motor vehicle collision or an overuse work related injury.

I grew up just outside of Gibbons, graduated from the Masters of Physiotherapy program at the University of Alberta, and haven’t landed far from the nest. I’ve been in Fort Saskatchewan since 2009, and love this city! I’m excited to be working in and contributing to my own community.
I love my job because of the diversity that every day brings. I’ve worked with a variety of different clientele including varsity athletes, members of the Canadian Forces, individuals who have been in motor vehicle accidents, those with special needs, children, and seniors. Although there is a common thread among conditions, no client—nor their activity levels or goals—are the same. This inspires me to take an individualized approach when I’m treatment planning; using a mix of education, manual therapy, modalities, and targeted exercise. I believe that every therapeutic relationship is a balance of give and take, and I like to work together with clients to design a creative treatment plan that will work for them.
I also believe that I have an obligation to stay current and build upon my skills. Therefore, I continue to pursue higher learning by investing in post-graduate courses. I am working through my manual therapy levels, and plan to become acupuncture certified. Ultimately, I hope to become a certified Gunn IMS practitioner, as well as become a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy.
My first love is running, although through rehabilitating my own injury I’ve discovered a new love for mountain biking and spin. In the winter, I try to get out to the mountains to ski at least a few weekends. I’m happiest out in nature, and you’ll often find me out and about with my dog in our beautiful river valley.

Hello! I’m Lynsey, and I’ve been with the Pivotal team since June 2015. I grew up in Whitehorse, Yukon where I spent lots of time outdoors with family and friends doing things like camping, hiking, fishing, and snowboarding. At a young age I became involved in competitive swimming. My interest in athletics, health, and human movement lead me to the University of Calgary. Throughout my undergraduate degree I continued to train and compete as a varsity athlete, and I completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2011.
During my swimming career I suffered from a few different injuries, which lead me to physiotherapy. The help of physical therapy got me moving again, and my positive experiences with physiotherapy allowed me to realize that I wanted to be involved in this rewarding profession. I went on to complete my Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2015.
In my practice as a physiotherapist, I provide clients with knowledge and the skills that allow active rehabilitation from their injury or condition. I enjoy working with clients on an individual basis, which allows me to develop unique treatment plans that help the client work towards personal goals and recovery. Treatments plans typically include client education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and where appropriate, acupuncture. I also have special training in Women’s Pelvic Health and can treat a variety of conditions such as incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
When I’m not in the clinic you can usually find me either at the gym, running, doing yoga, swimming, snowboarding, listening to music, or traveling.

Hello! I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta in 2011. Since graduating, I have pursued a slightly unconventional, yet unforgettable path that has helped shape me as a physiotherapist and young health professional. Following my under graduate degree, I moved to Australia and graduated from the University of Queensland completing the Master of Physiotherapy Studies program. I consider myself extremely fortunate for my unique experience abroad and was truly inspired and educated by some of the most influential and knowledgeable physiotherapists.
I perceive myself as a highly dedicated, strongly driven, and enthusiastic individual with a very good understanding of physiotherapy. I thrive on the challenge of clinical reasoning and this drives my passion for the profession. I thoroughly enjoy integrating my previous experiences with playing sports, personal training and ongoing education to create personalized, yet effective rehabilitation programs. I believe in developing personalized programs for my patients to ensure optimal return to function. This involves being diligent and observant to provide the best possible treatment for achieving tangible improvements. I have a particular interest in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy. I enjoy the diverse challenges of sport injuries, specifically, working closely with the athletes to help them return to the level of function and strength that allows them to perform at their best.
I am a sports fanatic and outdoor enthusiast. I have grown to appreciate and support Australian sport, especially cricket and AFL. I also enjoy the occasional round of golf, running, a good game of volleyball, snowboarding and ice hockey.

Hi, I’m Simone! I graduated with my Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2006, and continued to spend my career working in the private practice setting, specifically at centres targeted at sports rehabilitation. I have attained post-graduate training in Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy, and more recently have completed my certification in Dry Needling. I have also trained with the Running Clinic, and have specialized training with prominent professionals in various fields such as force and strength development, myofascial release, and mobilization with movement.
I grew up playing soccer, and found a second passion in long distance running and strength training later on in life. From there, my enthusiasm for staying active has evolved to other outdoor sports including mountain biking, cycling, and trail-running. Living an active lifestyle came with challenges for me, and I learned the hard way how to find a balance between doing what I love and staying in one piece. Now, being a mom to two young and rambunctious boys, this balance has become even more precarious to sustain, but has also become more appreciated and recognizable in its importance. I believe that it’s this personal journey that helps me understand and relate to my clients on a unique level.

I grew up in England where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition. I then went on to complete my Masters in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013. For my final placement, I chose to come to Alberta to explore the profession overseas and to be closer to the mountains. I instantly felt like I belonged here and decided to move in January 2014.
My approach to rehabilitation is to identify mechanical, biomechanical or central barriers to sporting performance. I have a strong belief in functional rehabilitation and my treatment model is to facilitate tissue adaptation by prescribing appropriate exercise. This is aimed at increasing tissue extensibility and joint range of motion with stretching and flexibility work, or to increase neuromuscular recruitment along with the associated strength benefits from a progressive loading program. I believe that alongside traditional techniques such as joint manipulation, dry needling and muscle energy techniques that functional rehabilitation offers the best potential outcome for all athletes and patients.

Hi, I’m Mike Salame, a Physiotherapist here at Pivotal. I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (BMgt) in 2013, and then enrolled into the Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta, graduating with my Master’s Degree (MScPT) in 2017. It was a personal ACL knee injury that opened my eyes to the wonderful world of physical therapy and allowed me to pursue a career in this field.

Hi, I am Robyn Carignan. I graduated from the Master of Science in Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in 2014 and have been a CSEP certified personal trainer since 2013. My passion for physiotherapy stems from my strong belief that exercise and movement are the best medicine for the body, mind and soul. Furthermore, I truly enjoy building a human connection with my patients and guiding them through the process of achieving success.
My treatment style is based on your individual needs and is grounded in therapeutic exercise, education and manual therapy. My experiences in Kinesiology and Personal Training have provided me solid evidence of the benefits of strength and conditioning in a rehabilitation plan. Whether you are coming to see me due to a specific injury, or your aim is to improve your mobility, health and fitness, I am here to find new ways to guide, motivate and inspire you to become the best version of yourself. I want to not only help you to meet your goals, but also exceed them whenever possible. To me, innovation is key to challenging the body to recover, adapt and “move better”. I want to make your rehabilitation stimulating, something you want to do rather than something you have to do. This way you are more likely to continue to be a “better mover” in the future. Outside of my position as a Physical Therapist I have a strong passion for fitness. When I am not training my clients you will often find me training at Evolve or sweating in a spin class. I have competed in two bodybuilding shows, two powerlifting meets, and have recently started to learn Olympic weightlifting. I love being outside, running, hiking and snowshoeing, whenever I can. When I have down time, I also enjoy reading fiction, trying out the great coffee shops and restaurants around Edmonton, and spending time with family and friends.
My goal is to inspire people to make movement a part of their everyday lives. The human body is powerful and quick to adapt. Hi! My name is Greg. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. I also completed a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Throughout my time in university, I developed a strong interest in anatomy, physiology, exercise science, and how a well-tailored physiotherapy program can lead to injury recovery and enhanced performance.
I have a keen interest in working with anyone who walks through the door of Pivotal Physiotherapy, whether you are a high performance athlete, weekend warrior, or a grandparent looking to get rid of your pain. My treatment approach is largely based on individualized manual therapy and prescriptive exercise. I also strive to educate my clients on their injury and their potential recovery strategies, as a mutual understanding is crucial for successful rehabilitation. My ultimate goal when working with clients is to leave them with the framework to independently manage their injury and prevent it from re-occurring via long-term exercise programming. In order to serve my clients best, I have started my continuing education through the CPA manual therapy levels and I plan on continuing down this path in the near future.
My passion for physiotherapy and sport performance largely stems from my athletic background, playing high-level soccer and hockey throughout the province in my youth. Outside of the clinic, you will find me trying to improve my fitness levels in the gym, on the soccer pitch, or on the local river valley bike trails. I am also an enthusiastic sports fan, so my leisure time is often spent cheering for my favourite teams alongside my family and friends.

I love working with patients of all ages and activity levels. I believe that each patient has a unique story and I aim to tailor each treatment plan to best suit each person based on their goals. Using a combination of patient education, hands on techniques, functional dry needling and independent home exercise programs, I hope that my patients leave the clinic with a better understanding of their symptoms and how to manage them. As a fun challenge, I also like to create goals with my patients to help improve their quality of life – whether it’s to easily complete various activities around the home, go for jogs in the river valley, or compete in high level sport!
In my free time now, I continue to stay as active as possible. Outside of work, I can be found biking, swimming, playing badminton, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and slo-pitch, to name just a few. I also like to take part in the number of awesome ways this city brings its people together – whether it be events like Taste of Edmonton or Folk Fest in the summer, or cheering on the Eskimos and Oilers throughout the rest of the year

My treatment philosophy, regardless of age and ability, is to help people recover from injury and return to the sports and activities that they enjoy most. I am passionate about sports and believe that movement, whether it is recreational or competitive, is beneficial to many aspects of life. If you have a goal to move better or to just start moving, I want to help you achieve that goal. Having played soccer for over 15 years, I have developed a special interest in the role of physiotherapy and injury recovery in soccer players. There is an alarming rate of injuries in female soccer players alone and I believe physiotherapy can play a huge role in injury prevention and rehabilitation. With the variety of sports out there, the possibilities are endless and there is an exciting potential to foster that relationship. Let’s make it happen!
When I am not at work, you can usually find me playing soccer or cheering for my favorite hockey team. I also enjoy playing volleyball (especially on a beach) and I am always looking for an opportunity to try new sports. For those with a sweet tooth, let me tell you about my love for baking cookies, cupcakes…you name it! I love being busy on the weekends spending lots of time with family and friends, but I also appreciate a quiet weekend at home with a good book. One last thing about me is that I am always looking for the next great place to eat and my next travel destination.

Hey! I’m Courteney and I’m a physiotherapist at Pivotal – Northgate. I completed my Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta after having completed my Bachelor’s of Science with distinction with credit from both the UofA and Utrecht University in the Netherlands. All through school, I knew I would work in the medical field, but I truly found my passion in physiotherapy. The fact that I get to help people, build new relationships, be active and have fun everyday makes it a perfect fit. I’ve dealt with numerous injuries growing up and even since becoming a physio. I appreciate the impact that even the smallest of injuries can have on your day-to-day life.
I love working with patients of all ages and injuries – variety in patients keeps me on my toes! With each patient, I take the time to understand how their injury is impacting their life and aim to give them the tools to guide their own recovery. I have a passion for active treatment, and through therapeutic exercise and manual therapy I allow patients to learn to manage their own condition. Setting individual goals is important to understand what moves my patients and how they can best return to being players in their own lives. I also have a special interest in pelvic health and have trained in the treatment of various pelvic floor conditions including incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
Being a born and raised Edmontonian, I have a passion for this city and what makes it unique and exciting. If I’m not checking out a new café or restaurant, I’m probably catching a concert or enjoying one of our many festivals. In my free time, I also enjoy staying active by going to the gym and getting my cardio in whether it be hiking or running! I have a passion for travel so on weekends, you can often find me road-tripping with family or friends.

I have worked primarily in private practice treating a wide range of populations in the community ranging from geriatric orthopedic conditions to elite level sport injuries. My certifications include acupuncture, vestibular dysfunction including vertigo, dizziness and motion sensitivity and concussion rehabilitation. Most recently, I have developed a strong passion for concussion rehabilitation in sport. I work with my concussion clients to remove them from “rest” and gradually work towards symptom free activity by providing effective strategies and knowledge to achieve functional independence.
My favourite hobbies include running, snowboarding, hiking, cycling, swimming, figure skating and strength training. At different times of my life, I was a competitive swimmer, triathlete, and competitive figure skater who competed at the national level in synchronized skating. Most recently, I have retired from my competitive athletic career and enjoy participating in these activities for fitness and enjoyment. I love to work with a variety of patients and injuries. Every person is unique and one of my favourite parts of my job is learning what motivates each person and what their goals are. I believe in an exercise-based approach to physiotherapy that incorporates functional exercises based on the persons’ activities. I like to work one-on-one with patients to collaborate and come up with a treatment plan that fits that individual’s unique lifestyle and goals.
Outside of work, I like to run or ride my bike. Edmonton has a great system of trails in the river valley and there is nothing I like better than taking in our beautiful city during a run on the trails. I also enjoy rock climbing, cross-country skiing in the winter and heading out to the mountains for a hike whenever I can. Another thing I love is food. There is nothing that compliments a good workout better than a great meal afterwards. That’s why I also love hitting up the local food scene and trying all the great restaurants in Edmonton. One of my favourite things about Physiotherapy is the individuality of each client and I tailor my treatment style to match their needs. I use a combination of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to help clients meet their goals. I grew up involved in a number of sports and have had my fair share of injuries over the years. These injuries and my return to sport goals have led to numerous positive interactions with Physiotherapists and I want to help others return to participating in what they love to do. I’ve had the opportunity to work as the therapist for the UofA Track & Field team for three years as well as with various rugby clubs. I have a keen interest in working with athletes and plan to work towards my Sport Physiotherapy Diploma.
My life outside of work involves a combination of sports and music. You may find me at the gym, at the rink, on the pitch or at the top of a mountain whether I get there by hiking, climbing or chair lift! You might also catch me playing some of your favourite tunes as a DJ around town. Some say I’m a bit of a foodie so if you’ve tried a new restaurant or microbrewery, I’m always interested to hear about them.

Growing up, sport and athletics were a centrepiece. I especially enjoyed playing hockey and downhill skiing, a perfect combination to take advantage of our endless winters! As an adult, after transitioning into the role of student and then desk jockey, I also garnered an appreciation for long days at the office and trying to stay active outside of it. This has driven my passion for working with clients of all ages, injuries and activity levels. One of my core tenets is that everyone benefits from more high quality, targeted movement in their lives. This can be complemented in the clinic by tailored manual therapy to build a custom intervention for any individual to walk through the door.
Outside of the clinic, I love to make the most of our city! In the summer, I try taking advantage of the golf courses, parks, trails and river valley, with pit stops at local coffee shops, and maybe an outdoor concert! In the winter, I become one of the many hockey crazed – whether its at the outdoor rink, men’s hockey league or at Roger’s watching the Oilers. I love lifting weights, and many of my hours outside the clinic are spent in the gym. When the opportunity arises I’m always up for a trip to the mountains to ski. I’ve also been fortunate enough to travel to nearly 40 countries, across Europe, Asia, Central America and the Middle East. Travel has afforded me opportunities to see how people live across the world, and the human and cultural elements that make every country unique. Hello! I’m Ryan and I’m happy to be one of the Mental Performance Consultants at Pivotal Physiotherapy. As a former dual sport (baseball and hockey) collegiate athlete, I have always had a longstanding passion for sport, athletics, and education. While playing for the University of Lethbridge Men’s Hockey team during the 1998-2002 seasons, I completed two undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Management degree. With a genuine interest in helping athletes and teams reach their ultimate goals, I also completed my Masters’ degree (MA, Sport Psychology) from the University of Alberta.
My approach to Mental Performance/Sport Psychology is a pragmatic one. By developing trusted relationships, I feel you can apply slight but significant changes to the way an athlete thinks about certain sport situations or scenarios which can have a profound impact on an individual’s athletic career – especially relevant for younger athletes. That is not to say I ignore specific applied practices but feel athletes need to establish a certain level of comfort and trust before applying specialized forms of specific sport psychology training. Within a team environment I focus on the cultural characteristics of successful teams in sport.
After my playing days were finished, I then directed my passion for sport into the field of talent identification and have been a long-time member of the Western Hockey League (WHL) scouting community. My scouting experience includes 10 years with the Chilliwack Bruins/Victoria Royals franchise and now a member of the Winnipeg Ice scouting staff. Further, my graduate studies at the University of Alberta focused on intangible characteristics that scouts consider in a draft setting. He is widely experienced as a Sports Medicine specialist within Canada and the US. He is currently a consultant for the Edmonton Bone and Joint Centre (foot and ankle triage), Spine triage (NASSA), and Royal Alexander Hospital Fracture Liaison Service (Medical Lead). He has previously worked as a consultant at the Edmonton Sports Institute IMaJIN program and at the PCN Ortho triage program which focused primarily on chronic injuries and featured in Edmonton Journal (June 14,2012) as a “Program helps many patients avoid orthopedic surgery”.
Dr.Nulliah’s scope of care, on and off the sports field, includes working with many amateur and professional athletes from over 27 sports. These include team physician with the Baltimore Ravens, the University of Maryland Terrapins, UMBC, Coppin State College, Marine Corps Marathon, TriRock Triathlon and multiple high school teams. Most recently, he was the head team physician for the inaugural 2019 season for the Edmonton Stingers basketball team. He is the Medical Director for Alberta Boxing, the team physician for Canada and USA Boxing as well as an AIBA International ringside physician. He has worked with Canadian UFC events and was one of the ringside physicians for the 2015 Toronto PanAM games and 2016 Rio Olympics.
Dr. Nulliah is passionate about making positive changes in the arenas of sports medicine and sport injury treatment in Edmonton. By incorporating a true multidisciplinary approach to treatment involving active interaction between physiotherapists, athletic trainers and Sports Medicine physicians with the intent to maximize sport injury recovery and return to play. He has recently partnered with ARC/HPC/Northgate by Pivotal Physiotherapy with the hope of strengthening relationships with other healthcare professionals while launching a Training Room style setting where athletes are able to access prompt medical treatment and intervention to facilitate a best case scenario for resumption of activities.

Specializing in strength training and performance enhancement, I also utilize corrective exercise to work out muscular imbalances and asymmetries in order enhance performance and create a more durable athlete or client. Creating confidence and providing education to the client/athlete is also paramount to me as a coach.
As a youngster, I played soccer, baseball, and competed in judo for about 10 years. For much of my life, I have great interest in watching and practicing “the sweet science” of boxing, which I incorporate into my own exercise regimen.

Hello! My name is Kaila. I recently graduated from the University of Alberta with my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to that I was living in Calgary where I completed my Bachelors of Biological Science as I trained at the Olympic Oval on the National BMX Team. My immediate future aspirations include obtaining my qualification for dry needling and my manual therapy levels.
While I find it rewarding to treat any patient, with my background and passion for fitness, I love the opportunity to work with athletes. It goes without saying that I am extremely passionate about my career path…why else would I be here?! The challenges that are presented by the human body are very in-depth and rewarding to solve, always making for an exciting workday. Overcoming many major injuries of my own, I thrive off the feeling of relieving patients’ pain and helping everyone return to and even surpass their previous levels of function!
During my free time, chances are I’m in any local gym working to improve my Olympic weight lifting and my cardiovascular level. I also frequently visit my family in Calgary, go hiking in the surrounding Jasper and Banff areas, and enjoy golfing when the weather permits. I also have a huge passion for travelling world wide, being fortunate enough to have been all over Canada, the United States, Southeast Asia, Japan, Costa Rica, Brazil, China, and Mexico.

My first experience with physiotherapy occurred 10 years ago when I sustained an injury myself. From that moment on I decided that I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others in the same way that my physical therapist had made a difference in my life. I have always had an interest in the human body and health care, which developed into a passion for anatomy and exercise prescription during my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. During my time in physical therapy school I spent 6 weeks at the Alberta children’s hospital working with children with torticollis and developmental delay. This 6-week placement really sparked an interest in pediatrics for me. I enjoy treating patients of all ages and activity levels ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics and competitive athletes to recreational weekend warriors. I believe in empowering patients with the knowledge required to rehab their injury as well as prevent it from happening in the future. My treatment style includes manual therapy, taping and prescribing functional exercise that is fine tuned to the individual’s rehabilitation needs. I have completed my level 1 course in orthopedic manual therapy and I’m looking to continue my education through the manual therapy levels, functional dry needling and concussion management.
Outside of being a physiotherapist I am a sports enthusiast who loves to get outside and stay active. In the summer months, I enjoy playing baseball, golfing, mountain biking and hiking. In the winter time I spend time strength training, snowboarding, playing hockey and curling.

Through my academic program, I was trained in Swedish relaxation and deep tissue therapeutic massage techniques. Additionally, I am equipped with a number of great beneficial modalities including joint mobilization, manual lymphatic drainage, myofasical release, prenatal massage, infant massage,pre and post sports massage, PNF and stretching, hydro therapies, along with introductions in reflexology and accupressure. Recently, I have completed certification in cupping and have developed a new passion for optimzing this modality. As a vetern massage therapist, I enjoy passing down my wisdom and mentor new RMTs entering the world of massage therapy.
In my time away from the clinic I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a mom of two school aged children and love being an active part of their education and sports teams. I have been lucky to work with flexibility that allows me to be an active part in all the important things my children do. We love spending our time together indoors and outdoors no matter what season it is. I am truly grateful for having a career in massage therapy and working at Pivotal.

I know firsthand how frustrating an injury can be, especially when it takes you away from what you love to do whether it’s your sport, your job, or a hobby. As a massage therapist, I can alleviate pain and discomfort by manipulating the soft tissue and joints of the body in an effort to help my clients be the best versions of themselves, and get back to what they love to do!
My treatments involve working in cooperation with clients, to problem solve current issues and better their future health through Therapeutic Massage and Remedial Exercise by addressing both the direct and indirect causes of their pain. I am currently trained in Therapeutic Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilization, PNF Stretching and pre/post event Sport Massage. I plan to further my education in the areas of Facial Stretch Therapy and Active Release Therapy.

What I love most about my career is getting to work with a variety of people one-on-one. Each day brings unique challenges and opportunities to learn something new. I believe it is important to continuously improve and diversify, which is why I plan to add new modalities such as Acupressure and Cranio-Sacral Therapy to my repertoire and get advanced certification in pre- and postnatal massage in the future.
When not at work, I am usually spending time with my Great Dane, Ruby, and I have a black belt in Taekwondo, though I haven’t practiced in a few years. I was born in Ottawa and spent a couple years in Germany as a child before moving to Alberta, and I am currently living in Morinville. Despite not living in Fort Saskatchewan, I do enjoy volunteering my time at local events such as FemSport, which I have done the past two years.

Hello! I’m Jose. I grew up in Scarborough, Ontario where I played basketball and volleyball. I became more focused on basketball when I started playing college ball at Centennial College in Toronto. It was during this time that I was exposed to athletic trainers and sport massage therapists who traveled with my team. This initially peaked my interest of becoming a massage therapist. However, it was two subsequent major events in my life that helped lead me down to my current career path. I moved to Edmonton in 2014. Shortly after, in 2015, I was in a motor vehicle accident that sidelined me for months. I had jaw pain, lower back pain, and whiplash. To recover, I received physio and massage treatment to help regain my strength and mobility. Just when I was making progress after the accident, I sustained a leg injury playing basketball. This caused my walking pattern to change and the muscles in my leg atrophied. I returned to physio and massage once again to regain my strength and mobility. After I fully recovered, I decided to become a massage therapist and completed my 3000 hours at Makami college.
My treatment approach includes soft and active tissue release, joint mobilization, PNF or passive stretches, intra-oral massage for TMJ Dysfunction, and myofascial release using manual or cupping therapy. I also provide functional exercises for home care because I believe my patients achieve the best results when they are involved with their rehab process. During my time working at a chiro clinic, I’ve treated MVA related injuries, repetitive stress injuries, and sprains/sprains. As an athlete myself, I’m excited to work with Pivotal’s athletic clientele.
Having an active lifestyle is very important to me. At the gym, I enjoy challenging my body to get stronger and leaner. On the court, I like to stay competitive by playing basketball. Outdoors during the summertime, I bike any chance I get. At home, you can find me cooking in the kitchen – fuelling my body in a healthy way. I also enjoy reading books and research papers that help further my knowledge as a massage therapist. Lastly, I tutor student massage therapists at Makami College to help them grow into successful professionals by developing good clinical habits.

In 2018, I was granted an internship with the Edmonton Eskimos for their season as their tissue and recovery coach and I’m grateful to continue with the team for the 2019 season. During this time, I gained plenty of experience treating pro athletes and their sport injuries. My treatment approach typically includes instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), myofascial release, joint mobilization, exercise prescription, and passive stretching. I am truly passionate about my career; my passion continues to reach new levels as I’m constantly challenging my own learning experience through various physical pursuits such as aerial acrobatics, yoga, dance and weight training. I live on a small acreage outside of the city with my husband and two young boys where we like to spend as much time being active outdoors as we can. I am eager to share my passions with others as I continue to learn and build on my own experiences.

Early in my career, I was introduced to Bowen Therapy and it has been part of my treatment approach ever since. Bowen Therapy consists of a series of gentle manipulations over muscles, tendons, and ligaments to trigger the Autonomic Nervous System to reset and relax tissues in the body. It does this by increasing blood and lymph flow, breaking the pain loops that can constantly cycle through the body. This allows the body to destress, decrease inflammation, and can accelerate the healing of injured tissues. The gentle nature of this treatment allows it to be suitable for persons of all ages and works not only on a physical level, but can aid in conditions caused by mental, emotional complications as well, such as stress, anxiety, grief, and shock. It offers a feeling of total relaxation and often an immediate response with decreased pain and discomfort. Using Bowen Therapy to treat many different ailments and being able to assist clients in their pursuit for better health is what I believe massage therapy is all about. I enjoy treating a wide variety of clients and conditions as it helps me learn and grow in my field.
I’ve recently moved back to the Edmonton area from our Family farm in Vegreville where my husband and I run a 10-acre market garden: Destination Gardens. We also use our garden to grow all of the ingredients we use in our commercial kitchen and our Ukrainian food Business: Not Your Baba’s. Being a part of a large operation with vegetables, we gained a passion for nutrition has inspired us to live a healthier lifestyle by eating better and getting more movement and activity in our daily lives. During my off time you can find me twirling my hula hoop, choreographing and dance performing on stages all across Edmonton and Alberta, or sitting at my art desk with a pencil crayon in my hand.

I spent several years in the paralegal field after relocating to Edmonton, and found that the physical strain was detrimental for me. I received my first ever massage therapy treatment after a few months of chronic pain in my shoulders and neck – I was blown away by how much relief someone could provide with just 45 minutes of hands on work. I was also amazed by how much information my RMT was able to provide me about my body, and with the suggestion & support of my fiancée I began pursuing my RMT diploma.
I am excited to use my skills to provide natural pain and stress relief for my clients to improve their overall well being and progress. I am trained in several modalities including Deep Tissue, Relaxation, Myofascial Release, Pre and Post Natal, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
