Marissa Poon

Physiotherapist

MScPT, Functional Dry Needling, Level 1 & 2 Concussion Management (Through Concussion Rehab Works Inc)

Hi, my name is Marissa! I completed my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. I also have further education in Functional Dry Needling as well as Spinal Manipulation. I have always wanted to find a job that was the perfect combination of the things I love: sports and people. Physiotherapy provides me with the platform to work with motivated individuals who are always striving to move better. Let’s make it happen!

My treatment philosophy, regardless of age and ability, is to help people recover from injury and return to the sports and activities that they enjoy most. If you have a goal to move better or to just start moving, I want to help you achieve that goal. With the variety of sports out there, the possibilities are endless and there is an exciting potential to foster that relationship.

When I am not at work, you can usually find me playing soccer or cheering for my favorite hockey team. For those with a sweet tooth, let me tell you about my love for baking cookies, cupcakes…you name it! I love being busy on the weekends spending lots of time with family and friends, but I also appreciate a quiet weekend at home with a good book. One last thing about me is that I am always looking for the next great place to eat and my next travel destination.
