Hi, I’m Jessica. I have been a full-time Registered Massage Therapist with Pivotal Physiotherapy since 2012.
I was born and raised in a small city in Southeast BC. My parents raised me in the mountains: hiking, camping, fishing, cycling, and paddling were frequent weekend activities. I was introduced to competitive sports at an early age, and spent my childhood involved in short-track speed skating, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and martial arts. Being heavily involved in sport also meant early exposure to injury, and I developed a deep appreciation for my local massage therapist, who helped “fix” me countless times.
My post secondary journey eventually led me to the MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy in Edmonton, where I earned my Remedial Massage Therapy Diploma. I am an active member in good standing with The Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association, and enjoy mentoring massage students and new graduates. In my many years of clinical experience, I have treated a diverse range of cases. I am well-versed at collaborating with other healthcare providers, and enjoy the challenge of treating unique injuries and conditions.
My massage treatments are personalized to each of my patients unique needs, employing a variety of modalities including: Swedish Massage, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Cupping Therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage, Neuromuscular Therapy, Joint Mobilizations, PNF Stretching, and Remedial Exercise. I am certified in Prenatal, Postpartum and Infant massage, TMJ assessment and treatment, as well as Cupping Therapy and Gua Sha.
I have been a resident of Fort Saskatchewan for more than a decade, and volunteer much of my spare time with our local minor sports organizations. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and weightlifting.
