Hi I’m Harley, physiotherapist at Pivotal Northgate. I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with distinction from the U of A, after which I worked for a few years in the fitness training industry. Between training, karate, wrestling, volleyball, and over a decade of rugby, I have spent my fair share of time as a physio patient. It was as a patient that I first felt that spark of interest in the anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics of the body and its healing process. Now, as a physiotherapist, I use these combined interests to create the right rehabilitation program for each unique injury and, most importantly, each unique person.
Beyond the academic considerations of the profession, the most valuable aspect of physiotherapy to me is the relationships I am able to build with my patients. Whether you are a high level athlete looking to optimize your performance, or a weekend warrior with some nagging injuries from your glory days, I want to keep you in the game and help you perform at your best. Even if it’s been years since you last got active, I’d like to help get you moving again and address whatever pains you might have along the way. Each person has their own individual demands that they place on their body that are unique to them. As such, I use a variety of treatment techniques including patient education, various manual therapy techniques, and exercises tailored specifically to your body’s needs. I am a strong proponent of individualized therapy, and I very much avoid any “one size fits all” treatments.
When I’m not in the clinic or the gym, you can likely find me in the mountains skiing, hiking, or camped out somewhere far away from cell service. You may also see me playing in the Edmonton Sport and Social Club leagues, on various pickleball courts around the city, or on the golf course in the summer (I’ll be the guy looking for his ball in the rough).
I look forward to meeting you!
