Physiotherapist

MScPT

Hi, my name is Emma! I graduated with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta. Prior to this, I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia- Okanagan. During the school years, I worked as an Athletic Trainer for the UBCO women’s basketball team as well as an exercise class assistant for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. I have always known I wanted an active career that allowed me to interact with others while helping improve their quality of life. With my previous experience as an elite gymnast, I got first hand experience of how physiotherapy can help you return to your meaningful activities. Thus, becoming a physiotherapist allowed me to combine my passion for helping others improve their life while promoting an active for life approach.

I strive to practice with a client centered approach where I use my interactions with patients to learn from them and adapt my style to best meet their needs and lifestyle. I focus on providing patients with comprehensive education to optimize their participation in treatment decisions and rehabilitation. Additionally, I like to incorporate manual therapy techniques followed by exercise to maximize your rehabilitation potential! I enjoy building therapeutic relationships with each client to help make their rehabilitation process successful, enjoyable, and rewarding. I love working with all ages and injuries, and have a special interest in youth sports rehabilitation!

I am passionate about being active and learning new sports and activities. In the winter, you will find me ripping down the ski hill. In the summers, you will find me soaking up the sun with family and friends in the Okanagan. I am a huge sports fan, so I will likely be chatting about game highlights while in the clinic!

I look forward to joining you on your rehabilitation journey!
