Hi! My name is Bailey, a physiotherapist at Pivotal Northgate. I am originally from the United States, where I completed my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology/Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University while playing NCAA Division 2 volleyball. After moving to Edmonton, I completed my Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. I always had a strong desire to work in the healthcare field because I knew I wanted to have a career where I could help others. However, my involvement in competitive volleyball is what really drove me to pursue a path in physiotherapy. Seeing teammates deal with injuries and having to rehab various injuries myself, I got a chance to see what physiotherapy can do to help people get back to the activities they love. This has allowed me to find a passion for physiotherapy. The best part of my job is getting to build relationships with my patients, helping guide them through their recovery, and seeing them return to the things they love to do!
I love working with patients of all different ages and injuries because I enjoy adapting my treatment style to fit each individual’s needs. I strive to help my patients understand their injuries, provide them with tools to take charge of their recovery, and guide them on the path towards achieving their personal goals. I use a combination of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and acupuncture/dry needling to optimize recovery for my patients. While I do enjoy treating a variety of conditions, I have special interests in treating TMJ and have a soft spot for treating volleyball players.
Being born in the United States, I naturally love watching NFL football on Sundays and am always up for a debate about NFL vs. CRL with any Edmontonian! Outside of work, I enjoy getting away to the mountains to camp, mountain bike, and snowboard. In Edmonton, you can find me at the gym, playing sports, or running stairs in the river valley.
