Physiotherapist

MScPT, Functional Dry Needling, Pelvic Health Practitioner

Hi, my name is Alesia! I completed my Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta after finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. During my undergraduate degree I worked as a swimming instructor and a personal trainer, which taught me the value of an active lifestyle and maintaining personal health. I also grew up as a Ukrainian dancer and competitive softball player where I had to overcome my fair share of injuries and got to experience the benefits of a positive rehabilitation experience first-hand. These experiences had a large influence on my decision to pursue a career where I am able to help others feel confident and safe returning to the activities they enjoy.

My treatment style is focused on therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and education. I believe that treatment should be based around developing personal goals so that patients are able to become independent with their rehabilitation. My goal is to provide patients with the right resources and information to promote long-term outcomes. I want to make the process of recovery enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding for my patients! I love working with all ages and injuries and I have developed a special interest in pelvic health physiotherapy. I am looking forward to furthering my education in the area of pelvic health as well as concussion and vestibular management.

I am passionate about being active and exploring new ways to get my body moving. Outside of the clinic you can find me lifting weights at the gym, going on walks in the river valley, or taking a local spin class. I also love testing out new recipes in the kitchen, spending time with family and friends, or planning my next travel destination!
