Hi! My name is Kate and I completed the Masters of Science in Physiotherapy (MScPT) program at the University of Alberta. I am thrilled to be joining the team at Pivotal!
I have been dancing since the age of 4, and teaching Pilates since 2008, so movement has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am fascinated by the nuance and resilience of the human body, and I have an ever-evolving curiosity about how it moves. Working as a physiotherapist has been a goal of mine since I sustained a major knee injury in the final year of my dance program. Rehabilitation allowed me to return to dancing, and I have now had a professional dance career for 17 years (and counting!) I have experienced the huge value of physiotherapy first hand, and love sharing that with my clients.
I am excited by the rehabilitative potential of Pilates, and I’ve completed my Clinical Pilates training with Indepth Physiotherapy. I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients and injuries, including pre- and post-surgical, motor vehicle collisions, sports injuries, as well as dancers, athletes, and anyone looking for preventative maintenance or to improve performance. I take an active approach – I really do think movement is the medicine – and I would love my clients to feel empowered in their bodies.
When not at the clinic or the dance studio, you can find me cycling, gardening or drinking coffee.
