MScPT
Hi, my name is Mirelle! I graduated from Trinity Western University (TWU) with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2019, then completed my masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta in 2022. I obtained my personal training certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and am a certified running specialist through The Running Clinic.
Growing up, I played soccer, volleyball, tennis, golf, cycling, and running. I competed in track and cross-country running at the provincial, national, and international levels for TWU and team Canada. I was constantly going to physio for sports injuries- especially during my university career when (I realize now) I sometimes sacrificed my health for performance. My physios helped me continue to pursue what I love and made me realize that there is more to life than elite sport. This ultimately became my motivation to become a Physiotherapist.
I love to help people feel better, move better and perform better, whatever their performance goals may be. From one’s occupation, to activities with friends to elite sport, I hope to help people find fulfillment in pursuing the activities they love to their fullest potential. I am also passionate about promoting performance in a healthy and sustainable way; I believe that you can be successful while maintaining balance. My treatment approach to help people achieve this is exercise, education, and manual therapy.
During my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, spikeball, beach volleyball, running, road and mountain biking, baking, eating what I bake, and watching Disney/Marvel/Harry Potter movies.
