MScPT
Hi, my name is Tessa! I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2020, and a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2017. I have worked for Pivotal Physio since 2018 as a receptionist and kinesiologist, I am now working as a physiotherapist at the Fort Saskatchewan Location.
Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to movement and the human body. So when I discovered physiotherapy, I immediately fell in love. I am inspired by the body’s ability to overcome, adapt, and adjust to almost anything. So, let’s talk physio: I believe physiotherapy should be a collaborative practice. You are the expert on your body and I am here to listen and provide guidance and support. A big part of my treatment style is education, I believe education is power! The more you know and understand about your pain, the better you can manage it. I like to use a combination of education, manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to create an evidence-based treatment plan that is specifically tailored to you and your goals.
I love working with all ages and abilities, including kids and toddlers! I have a strong interest in early motor development as well as injury prevention/management, and return to sport training. I am here to help you get back to what you love doing, whatever that may be.
When I’m not in the clinic you can find me hiking, rock-climbing, back-packing, canoeing, or cross-country skiing. Whether it’s a multi day canoe trip or winter camping. If it’s outside, I’m in!
