B.Sc. MPT, Pelvic Health Practitioner
Hi! My name is Hayley and I am a Physiotherapist at Pivotal Northgate. I completed my Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Health and Society at the University of British Columbia. During my time as an undergraduate, I worked as a recreational therapy assistant to promote independent living, health and wellness and community involvement with older adults. This work gave me a passion for helping individuals to age positively and to help them to continue to be able to participate in the activities that are important to them!
I enjoy working with people of all ages! My treatment style includes active approaches such as therapeutic exercise, coupled with hands-on manual therapy and soft tissue techniques. Providing patient education is a huge component of my treatment style as I believe that individuals should take an active role in their rehabilitation. I want you to understand both the “what” and the “why” behind the approach that we take to your rehab journey.
Growing up I was an artsy kid – I enjoyed musical theatre and playing both classical violin and performing in a fiddle group! Later in life I found a passion for building strength in the gym through lifting weights, and improving my cardiovascular fitness with running. I know from personal experience that it can be challenging to build new exercise habits as an adult! When i’m not in the clinic you can find me trying out new restaurants around the city or playing my fiddle with friends. My newest goal is to learn how to play golf, so you might find me at one of the driving ranges around the city!
